Friends

A couple of friends of mine wanted me to take some family pics for them at the local pier.
Unfortunately, I won't be posting their group photos. Most turned out well, it's just extremely difficult to get three kids under the age of 8 to sit still, lol! These pics were taken with Kodak Easyshare DX6340. I reduced the size of the pics and it seemed to make them really grainy....I then resized them and it made them worse. Oh well....live and learn.

They are really hard to look at because they are so big. When you reduced their size, were you reducing the file size only (more JPEG compression)?

You should change the actual size (in pixels) to about 600 to 800 on the longest edge. This will help you to get the file size down without having to compress it so much.

Thanks Mike....I did that and it made them really grainy. I just assumed that everyones puter would automatically resize. I will do a better job in the future...sorry.

i don't know what others are using to view your shots, but when i click it automatically reduces to fit my screen.

Thanks everyone...just a bit dissapointed because the original pics are much sharper. This family had a paticular fascination with feet, lol! Took lots of shots....feet are one of my phobias (thanks to my bros stinky sweaty feet).
