a spontaneous portrait of 2 of my best friends.
50mm 1.8 @ 2.0
Not bad - I like the unique angle of this too.
Looks nice. What was the lighting like? Too bad about the high ISO, you can see the grain pretty clearly even at this small size.
lightning was pretty low light... 8 something PM + street lights, 800 ISO + 2.0 + 1/50th or 1/100th
You should be able to shoot handheld down to 1/30th. There's no reason to shoot at that ISO.
I, personally, like the grain. Nice angle.
I like the grain too. Nice shot.
It's a double-edged sword. Sometimes it's nice to get grain below ISO800. Another one of the joys of shooting film. Grain in and of itself can be appealing. There are usually trade-offs at that speed, such as naturally increased contrast and loss of detail in shadows and highlights. Those aren't always appealing.
Thanks everyone for the comments :hail:
I'm afraid I can't... 1/50th with a 50mm lens is already nearly too slow for me...
Anyways, as you said in your second reply, grain can be nice, and I wanted to get a "film" look on this shot...
Can't wait to have saved enough money for a 40D and experiment with 3200 ISO...
