I was told that it was a remarketed Tamron. I found it to be a very nice lens. I did purchase it as a replacement to my kit lens. I would keep it if it weren't for the fact that this lens is designed for crop cameras even though they say it is an EF mount.

Promaster does, according to their web page offer lifetime warranty on their lenses.
