Wondering if anyone has any comments about 400X vs. 400F. As in, if I like the 400F, am I likely to still like the 400X. Talk of it being more saturated scares me as I like the natural balance of 400F, and I wouldn't want it to come out looking like Velvia.

    Any comments appreciated.

I think it's intended to be the 400 speed equivalent of Velvia, for those who
want the saturation but at higher speed.

That would be a drag if there is no other option (from Fuji) at 400...I think I'll buy up whatever rolls of 400F I can find.

    Thanks for the input.

I think both will be available for some time. 400X is NOT a replacement for 400F,
but an addition to the line. See their website at:

Hmmm, there is no 120/220 of 400F available in the NY area, and both B&H and Adorama are listing the 400X as the replacement for 400F, and that 400F has been discontinued. It says on your link "Provia 400X has replaced Provia 400F.", so I think that may be the case.
