Recently saw the same question elsewhere regarding the Fuji S5000/S5500

Not sure about the wide angle but consensus of opinion is that optical quality of the TL-FX9 isn't as good as the Olympus TCON-17 1.7x teleconverter... both have the same thread size, though you do get the mounting adapter with Fuji's own package.
