Fujifilm X100 turns off

I have a big, confusing problem.... Just invested my money in the Fujifilm X100 and started setup the camera. It only took a while before the problem occurred. Just after choosing language, time and date, the camera quickly shuts down. It will turn on again if I reinsert the battery, but only to the time/date function again - then it shuts down....

I installed the firmware update 2.0, but the problem is still there. I am so frustrated and really want this beauty of a camera to work.

Did you charge the battery before trying to do the set up?

Yes, i fully charged the battery before starting.
