Alright awesome! Is 28in big enough? Is there a standard size that is commonly recommended. Just another thing for me to start saving for. :thumbup:

they have tons of do it yourself project like home made softboxes, home made beauty dishes and pretty much anything else that would cos an arm and a leg that is photography related, they have that you can do with household items. all for around $20 or less

As for your question, you will hate yourself for not waiting and buying a bigger umbrella. Wait and get a 32" or a 40"

I have an umbrella. It's a 45" umbrella. I was wondering about soft box sizes. I need another light too.

go to techforless.com and pick up a couple quantaray pz-1. they are AMAZING flashes and for the price they can't be beat. you could get two of them for less than half the price of another nikon speedlite.

It isn't showing any for nikon. i might just go with the vivitar 285.

You are planning to use it off camera as a strobist type flash right? If so, then it doesn't matter what kind of camera it is made for, it will work just fine as a slave flash.
