So the wife went to sleep and the animals won't hold still. I figured the next best thing was to set up the wireless shutter release.

Shots were taken with off camera flash either left or right + homemade beauty dish type thingy. The photoshop effect was just for fun and to give a cohesive look to all the shots.

So here is the end result: me.... 15 frames of oddity.

I think this is awesome! Fun stuff! You look like a guy who oughtta' be doing TV commercials.

Looks like you know what you're doing with the lighting too

Thanks for the replies. Glad you thought they were fun/entertaining, I had fun taking them. This was my first try with portrait type lighting and I'm pretty happy with the results.

Next time I'll try to remember to include my best "Jerry Ghionis" Face. (You probably won't get that one unless you look at the WPPI advertisements in photo magazines.)

I had fun looking at them. Funny little series. Thanks for posting!

Next one to try is :sexywink: - to your wife. ;)

Cheers, though; a great idea, and a montage wouldn't be bad either.

This series reminds me of the photo strips that drop from the photo booths found at amusement parks.

Cool series.

Those are great and made me smile. They really DO look like a pro version of the old photo booth pics...lol.

Flash look a bit hot on about half of them

Holding just a white piece of copy paper on the side of your face opposite the flash would help loads to fill in some shadows and give it that multi light source look if you wanted that

would be a neat project for you, or someone to arrange them in a worhol-esqe style.

Thanks. I agree about filling in the opposite side. I think that will be my next step in learning lighting.

As far as the flash being hot, believe it or not the original photos were more or less properly lit or even underexposed a little. The hot/overexposed look is actually because the effect I applied to them (lightroom's built in "cold tone") boosts the exposure and brightness quite a bit. I backed it off of most of them but I guess they still came out a bit hot, they also look brighter on my laptop than on the pc that I edited them on so maybe it's about time I got some hardware and performed a proper calibration.

I really like this idea. I might try it as a way to hone my photoshop skills.
