    Hi,
I want to buy a compact camera to carry around. I am leaning towards canon G11. does anyone use it if yes, any comments?

The Canon G series have been among the best 'compact' digital cameras for many years now. Everything I've read about them, says they are excellent. The only down side (for actual photographers) was that some models didn't give you RAW files, but I think the newer ones (like the G11) do.

I'm pretty sure the G9 and up offer RAW file recording. I had a G9, it was great but I ended up trading it for a 350D backup body.

I had the G10 and it was pretty damn good. I only sold it to get the Olympus E-P1 in part because I wanted faster glass. Build and image quality was superb. I dropped and kicked my G10 several times and it kept on ticking. They are not the most "compact" cameras though, but that is the trade-off for durability and features.
