Galaxies M106 and NGC 4217

M106 and NGC 4217, imaged from the back yard last night! M106 is the larger galaxy in the upper left, and NGC 4217 is the smaller, edge on galaxy in the lower right. This pairing of galaxies is quite the sight! The second image has the stars removed, showing just how many galaxies are visible in this one image.

It's almost unfathomable to me to think about how many civilizations have come and gone, and are yet to come.
