Garlic (not so) still life (compo)

Went on vacation and came back to find one of the garlic heads had... don't remember the word in English, but you'll understand.

I thought it would make an interesting subject (before we plant it).

I tried different angles, but I'm still not 100% happy. Please advice on the composition (I know about the lines in the background, stupid mistake)

Oh, it was taken with natural light coming in from a couple of shaded windows, and my 3.2 uncontrolable dimage Xg.

Okay, since I critiqued your other shot, I'm just going to say now that you should get a new camera if you can afford it. Perhaps a "controllable" one. Again, the shot would have been better wide open, or with a macro lens.

I'm on it (think I'll get an XTi). Budget's been approved by the investment committee (wife) but around here (Mexico) they cost twice as much as in the US, so I'm waiting for the opportunity to get it from over there.
