General Photojournalism Question:

Over here in the UK We have a channel called BBC Three that recently done a Documentary on Paparazzi
(Paparazzi next generation i think it was called)

Most of the photographers working for mr. paparazzi (search it, he sells images to the sun etc..)
aren't interested in composition etc..
they go out buy a good High ISO performance camera with a nice L lens and a Flash on a bracket, They go out (dont even look through the view finder) and just press the shutter on Burst mode and hope they get the shot

So to answer your question, If your in paparazzi Journalism (where the shot needs to be caught AsAp) Use auto / Program mode and just "estimate aim" and click

The paper is interested in the picture of the person doing something they shouldn't or just the picture of the person...
they aren't looking for a photoshoot with perfect exposure, contrast etc.. it isnt gunna put the orice up... a bounty for a photo of... Katie price at a price of $2000 is still a price of $2000 even if you get perfect exposure and out of this world contrast however if you got a picture of her full nude the papaer may pay more than the original price.
