What's the secret to getting a decent fare on a Bahn ICE train? I'm trying to go from Frankfurt to Berlin on Friday, May 15 and returning Monday, May 18. Every time I think I've found a good price, they tell me it's unavailable! What the hell? Is there some trick to this, like picking a late night train or something?

You would have needed to book further in advance for the special bargain prices, I'm afraid. They have a limited number of cheap seats available on each train, and as soon as those are booked out, you can no longer get tickets at that low fare. (And other than that it's my secret personal belief that Deutsche Bahn is a - psst, don't let on that I said that! - mafia sub-group, cough-cough).
