Wasn't exactly sure where to post this but...

I saw some of you use this program. Do you find that this program satisfies your needs to edit your photos? It is a free program, as I can't afford Photoshop right now. Do you think you can do as much as you can with some of the Photoshops?

If you can't get hold of photoshop. GIMP is a fantastic stop gap

GIMP is a fine stop gap. Last time I heard, they were still limited to 8 bit files and other sorts of limitations. Most people don't need full blown Photoshop. Have you considered saving for Photoshop Elements? I believe its under $100.

If you are a student / teacher you can save huge amounts of money. If not then find a friend who is!

Thanks for the comments! I guess I could save up for Photoshop Elements... it is considerably better than Gimp? Yes I am a student... but not in photography... do I need to be a photography student?

I would prefer photoshop elements over gimp.

You just need to be a student to qualify for the discounts. Check your school for details.. my info is old (I've been out for a while now).
