Give me something to retouch!

lol, it was a joke, you can do it if you really want to :)

I might give it a try just to see if I can do it. Maybe I can dig up a couple other photos to work with on SXC.

At this resolution making the sword out of jello was impossible. Even so, I feel you should eat me.

That second picture is perfect as-is. The highlights are very bright but not blown. It's also tack-sharp and the skin tones are natural. How do you think it could be improved upon? Yes, it's a snapshot, but a great one.

In the meantime I'll give the first shot a crack.

i just figured, since it was taken during the wrong part of the day, there had to be something wrong with it...

For snapshots like this there is no wrong part of the day. That's just what it looked like, no?

that's pretty much what it looked like, and i couldn't pass it up...

Maybe a little red but babies always have really warm-toned skin anyway. I've got some backlighting issues at the moment so it's hard for me to do the colors accurately.

Lab mode.

Shadow/Highlight + USM in the L channel, minor A/B curves to remove the blue cast and bring back the skin warmth.
