Good afternoon from Puerto Rico!

I'm new to the photography, only took a class during my B.A. and I know the basics.

I'm currently using a Nikon D40 with a Manfroto tripod.

I joined this forum because since I'm new and pretty much alone in this, I'll be in the need of some advices from this forum.

I really love photography but it's not my dedicated career, anyways I really like closed up pictures and details.

I'm currently thinking if I should sell this camera for a better one that have at least an image stabilizer and more pixels.

So far I have enjoyed a lot this camera but I don't like carrying my tripod all the time and sometimes I have to take pictures that won't have time to use the tripod.

This and other reasons.

Hopefully I'll get some good advices about this.
