Good Morning from a Newbie!

Hello All

I have just joined up and wanted to say hi. I am trying to learn as much as possible in my lead up to buying my NEW NIKON D300. I hope to have in the next few months.

I have a small Nikon P80 right now that totally sucks even though I have gotten a few cool pix out of it!

I love to learn and once I have my camera I will be making a week long trip to Atlanta to visit my Uncle that is a professional Photographer for about 20 years.

Just need the camera first. I want to show him that I am for real in this so I want to learn most of the basics so he does not have to do all that when I get there.

I have a ton of background in Arts, and a little in photography. I was a Photojournalist in the navy but got a Medical discharge just before I graduated. I also took a Photography class in Highschool.

I love Sports and WEATHER!!! I LOVE WEATHER. I also love to take pics of Cool Cars and Trucks which I have 1000s of! Animals and people follow after the others.
