Being a guest of course I couldn't use flash, but I'm pretty happy with how these turned out based on having to sit, etc.

D300s / Sigma 18-50 f/2.8 1600 ISO

Minimal processing, just adjusted white balance, exposure and a little crop here and there - no noise reduction applied yet.

I like the second one, but the rest don't really do much for me... This is obviously due to where you were seated, but this was a frien, right? Was there a wedding photog there also?

Yeah, it was my wife's cousin getting married... Not sure about the professional photographer, but I guess you could say there was a paid person taking photographs :)

increasing ISO is best solution in such conditions plus adjusting WB.

I am seeing lots of noise... :/

As I mentioned, these are at 1600 ISO with no noise reduction, I could post samples run through Noiseware Pro - beautiful.

The D300s has the same noise reduction for the D700 if not better. The d700s is slightly better but at 1600 I doubt you could see the different especially on an uploaded picture.

seem a big underexposed too, but nice job on the noise reduction
