    D300 with 300mm f/4 & SB800.​

    Hummingbirds are on my bucket list.

    What was the set up? Tripod? Prefocused, and remote? Was the flash on camera or off?

    That's a nice shot. Exposing for your flash really killed the ambient lighting and made for a dramatic shot - bird stands out really well against the dark background.

    Pretty much..... tripod setup ~10-12' away, wired remote (low battery wouldn't fire wirelessly), flash on hotshoe TTL, prefocused.

    Thanks...... sitting on the front porch with a cold one wasn't too much of a bother...., really. :lol:

    Beautiful shots! I really like the way the colors pop against the dark background.
