Hello. I've lurked here for a while and figured it might be time for me to join in.

I consider myself an amatuer photographer, though I've sold a few prints and I've been hired to do some commercial stuff before. I say I'm amatuer mostly because I don't know anything about photography. I usually just mess with something until it works and take a lot of pictures hoping that at least one combination of buttons I pushed and levers I pulled comes out as a decent picture. I am planning on taking some classes this summer so I at least know the names and purposes of the buttons and levers.

I have a fuji S7000 6.3Mp DSLR that I got for a great price. It has it's drawbacks, but it's a great camera to learn on for the price. There is no question that it will not be my last camera. I certainly want more lense options in the future, but this baby is more than I know what to do with for now anyway.

I do mostly fetish and pinup stuff with the occasional landscape or artsy shot thrown in. I'm approaching this as a hobby ( I already have a job doing what I love), so I figure I'll shoot what I like. I'm working on setting up a portfolio site but, as I have no sl<illz, it might be a while.

So, nice to meet you all. This looks like a very cool place.

    Daniel

Hrm. Most of my work is a little off color...

    Ok. A lot off color.

Here are a couple I did for a poster contest. No word on if I won yet. The theme for the contest was "cat-o-nine tails".

The composition is off because I needed to leave some space for wording at the top and left. It's high contast because it's...well.. for a poster.

I've seen them both printed at 15x20 and they look great, but look kinda crappy on my monitor. But then my monitor is kinda crappy. Let me know how they look on yours and let me know what you think of the shots, if you like.

Welcome to TPF, Daniel! I think you'll find most of the folks around here very helpful, if you have questions.

How exactly do you get primarily into that type of photography? I wouldnt even know how to if I wanted to.

I like the shots you displayed.Tres cool. By all means , keep em coming.

    Cheers
