I just found my grandfather's camera, a Kowa 35N. I've looked online for some info, but I was hoping someone knew about this camera first-hand (or any other info would be great too).

It was apparently a copy of a Leica camera. It has a Prominar F.C. f/3.5 45 mm fixed lens and appears to be from maybe the late 50's early 60s.

    Any info please, thanks!

Made about 1960. A budget-priced 35mm consumer camera. It's not considered a Leica copy and not particularly sought after by collectors.

Thanks Compur. Well, it's a cute camera, reasonably well made. I'll put some film into it and fire off a few to see how it works. Maybe go for B/W for an authentic touch. It will look nice in my dispay case in any event.

    Matt.
