Great Horned Owls

    taken through a netted fence so there might be a little faint white line going through them, i tried my best to blur it out.

    Oh he has a very evil stare..lol

    Nice shots not keen on the blur in some areas of the bird though! :)

    As stated, its because of the mesh it was shot through..i could not get into the holding area because the one that can fly is very territorial and has attacked the warden(my uncle)

    its not quite a zoo, its a wildlife sanctuary to help injured animals heal and ones that cannot be released wild are there for educational purposes..these owls cannot be released due to wing problems.
    the one that can fly was raised by other people and fed Vienna sausages so he cannot go back to the wild.

    Nice Owl. A couple of years ago I came home from work, and found this Great Grey hanging around. I only had a 2MP P&S, but I got within feet of him. I think overall for a P&S, it turned out nice.

    Despite the netting, you have some wonderful Owl portraits here. Of course I'm slightly biased as I could look at owls forever...Wonderful creatures.

    very nice shots. release sanctuaries are great places.
