Simply needed to get out of Dodge this afternoon. Nothing too spectacular as far as the light goes. None the less these are my faves from today. Let me know your thoughts.

They all look very flat and fake...

What happened? I'm sure part is the lighting...but that's peculiar.

Bummer. They look good on this end. What is your monitor's profile? I ran through all the ones on mine. Although they varied none looked flat or fake.

Now I am worried. Working on a brand new iMac. Newly calibrated monitor and using Lightroom.

They are all very good, but I have to admit also that they could use some contrast. However, you have some very interesting compositions, and I enjoyed seeing this series very much! :)

Thanks! I am glad you mentioned contrast. I have been battling that with my new gear. I am leaning toward low contrast for greater detail.

I always thought contrast would bring out the detail- maybe that's where I keep scr... never mind.

The buffalo, makes me miss my little chin beard. I hear it's called a dewlap- females liked it when they went into estrus. I shaved it off yesterday but started growing it back today.

We like to call it a soul patch.

I think I will too. I looked up dewlap

    That's not cool.

    Then I looked up estrus

    Now that's pretty cool.

I thought that a soul patch started under the lip. My daughter calls that a 'porn star cootchie.' I don't like her saying that to me.

Fully laughing out loud!!! And yeah... now that you mention it I think a soul patch does start under the lips. Never the less it is a cool name for facial hair.

Odd, when you posted the "Cabin Window" pic on PL it immediately confirmed my theory that this was where you came over from, but yet some how I had completely missed this thread and had not actually seen the image here on TPF :blushing:
