Been playing with my new toy (D90) and I have no clue on how to utilize it to it's potential. I just don't want to stay in the auto mode all the time. Is there a photography for idiots book out there? Or some book that would explain not what the features of DSLR's have but how to actually put them in use.

I would recommend Understanding Exposure by Bryan Peterson I believe. Amazing book everyone interested in photography should own it honestly. The manual has some useful information as well but sA x sKy should just be quiet and not use it in that manner for someone new and just asking a question.
