So yeah, I am new to photography, I have a Digital Rebel XTi and I obtained several lenses thereafter, the Canon 20-35mm wide-angle USM, and a supposedly rare Canon 70-210mm F4 push-and-pull type zoom.

Here are some pics of my equipment, for general evaluation (got my rebel for around $300 USD btw)

In any case, what do you all recommend for my next lens? I was thinking a Canon Mark 1 50mm f1.8, as it seems very inexpensive and lot of bang for the buck (around $150).

I don't like third-party lenses, but are there other lenses of similar quality? I also was thinking of getting an external flash (430EX) and a battery grip or something.

OR, I could sell my camera as it is for a nice amount and perhaps get a 40D? Suggestions, ideas, commentary?
