i hope so! the canon 28-135 3.5 just isn't cutting it for shooting what i plan on shooting with this.

Low light, fast paced, lots of movement, close range. I hope the 2.8 helps with the lighting!

Also plan on using this for virtual tours in which the super wide angle will help a ton as opposed to the 28mm.

Well, I've heard many good things about it, that's for sure. I'm afraid I can't speak from experience, but I'm sure it'll be a worthy addition to your kitbag (or the school's )

I looked through this glass over the weekend, and while I have no experience with super wide angle lenses, I expected more distortion and FOV that what I could perceive on the showroom floor (not ideal conditions). I even took to swish panning it around to get a better sense of the 11mm end.

The optics and resulting IQ should be nice. Perhaps you can report back your impressions after you work with a few days.
