    Just a shapshot of my brother-n-law I took. I think it's an ok photo. I wanted to give it to him for christmas. I would Like to get some input.

    It's OK as a candid but would have been better if he was looking at the camera.
    And lose the writing at the bottom. It just swamps the image and you look at that, not the picture.
    As for a present - that depends on whether you think he'll like it or not.

    The photo isn't bad, although you could have done without him hiding behind his hand as the AF has tracked there.

    I'd say try and take a shot he'll like. If he's a bit camera shy, a great shot for blokes is to get them to lean against a wall (preferably a nice brick one). Then they can be mean and moody and it adds to the shot, rather than having them look like they didn't want their picture taken. Here's a really bad example of what I mean:

    To me it looks like a guy sitting and watching TV by the reflection on the eyeglasses.
