I need a flash separate from my camera, preferably wireless, but I have no idea how to go about syncing the two, and I am not finding much clear and simple information.

Any Suggestions?

Thanks Sooooo much. I am having trouble finding an inexpensive flash that allows me to 'dial down' though. any suggestions of where to scrounge around at, or what kind to look for? I am an amateur, but I don't plan to stay that way long; I learn fast. I need a professional flash with a minimal learning curve

There is no free lunch. Learning how to operate the flash takes 15 seconds at most. Learning to light properly... that is going to take a significantly higher effort on your part. ;)

HERE is a kit that includes the flash, the radio remote set, a light stand with bracket and umbrella etc.

With off camera flash, which is what you want, they will. Otherwise for flat boring lighting of camera flash, it s better you stick specifically to Sony brand flashes.

Again, start reading the strobist site... it is an eye opener.
