I am new to the boards heck this is my first post

I used to be into photography back in High School, taking lots of action shots of my friends and I skateboarding, and also nature shots. Well that was bout 12-13 years ago now and I'm trying to get back into it but this time with digital instead of film. I'm finding it to be a whole new ball game, but the learning curve is there and I'm riding it pretty well, I have a Canon SD30 PointAndShoot, and a Canon Rebel XTI (400D) w/ Tamron 18-200mm F/3.5-6.3 lens. I want to get a 50mm 1.4 or 1.8 soon as well.

thanks guys, and yeah vannahcometrue that second pic is of a really fun place, it was kind of a trial and error to do with the point and shoot, surely would have been alot easier with the DSLR.
