Hello, my name is Ryan and I've just been introduced to the D-SLR world with a new D60. It appears to be an excellent place to start and more than adequate for my professional needs. I sell real estate and believe that I will be able to capture much better photos of my listings (this was the primary desire for the camera). Now that I have it, I find myself very much intrigued as a hobbyist. While I realize that I have a great deal to learn, I am very excited about this new world of which I am entering. So, while I browse through the different categories on the forum, I would appreciate any help along the way.

The first things that I suppose I need to do is to determine which software would be best for editing photos. I do not have any of the Adobe products. All I have is the trial version Capture NX2 and paint.net with a plugin that will edit RAW files (NEF), but, it does so extremely slow and I'm not sure it has the capabilities I would like.

So with that, any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Thank you,

    HI, and welcome to TPF!

My post processing is fairly basic. I use Photoshop on my PC, and I know several people who use Aperture on their Macs and are very happy with it.

Thank you for the welcome. So would it be best to just simply bite the bullet and get CS4 or could I do something like elements or lightroom?

Thank you. I'm downloading Lightroom right now. I'm going to try out a few programs and see what works best for me, read reviews and tutorials, etc...
