So, I'm looking into getting my first SLR camera, I was thinking a Canon camera. Does anyone have an recommendations of cameras I should look into? I'm trying to keep my budget at $400 tops... but if there's anything you guys think I should consider, please let me know. Thank you!

If your budget is for the body only- I'd suggest a used a Rebel XS or XSi. Like PP said, we need a bit more info!

If you dig around enough you can find the D40 kit with 18-55mm lens for $450. Great starter camera

how about looking for the 400D kit? I don't know how much they go for in dollars but I think its a better choice than the 1000D (XTi and XS respectivly for the Americans in the audience)
