This is Archie offering his paw to his master Marc (my grandson)

Marc and Sulena came to see us with a boisterous Archie (hence the lead).
I took the opportunity to take a few photo's of the dog,
and printed 8 of the best of them, 4 each onto A4 sheets.
This one they liked a lot and it was printed on its own onto A4,
with which they are quite happy, but I am not.

The problem, as I see it, is the dead area in the top RH corner.
Its easy enough to take out the table legs but that would leave the area even deader,
and in my opinion will not improve the photo.

Any suggestions will be welcome

Well I think your photo kinda goes with the rule of thirds & I like it. I think the legs might be a bit distracting. I think you should take them out. and maybe also the leg and lead behind him.

This might be better off in the critique section

Maybe someone could do a nice photoshop job on it for you? I didnt find it distracting, even after I read what you said. But it would be a much stronger image without the person's leg and table.

Thanks for the comments.

I've had another go at it, removing the table, the legs and lead.
And cropped it to deal, at least partially, with the blank area at the top right.

It certainly looks better, I hope Marc and Sulena think so when I
give them the revised print

Maybe overlay a section of the next best shot on top of this one in the area. Sort of like the couple kissing in the small champagne glass in the corner of their own portrait from the good'ol days.

I think you did a very good job - much improved! They should love it. :D
