I have been looking at your site and I think I will enjoy myself here. Just got my Nikon D3000 for Christmas but haven't gotten past auto yet, that adventure is a bit scary! My youngest daughter is getting married the 24th of this month and has decided that she wants me to take the photos because she does not want to hire a professional. It is an outdoor wedding and any advice would be welcome.

My love for photography began when I was about 5 years old when my Mom gave me her old camera that had broken. I still remember the feel of it in my hands as I stood still holding it down in front of me so I could look through the viewfinder that was on top of the camera. (I know I just told my age!) I remember how I would pull the lever that if working would take the photograph thinking to myself how I would love to see the picture I had just taken.

I know this is a little long but I am really excited to get started!

Tell her to HIRE a professional!

Then you can take snapshots and practice.

More than anything, hire a professional!

Goodluck! Just keep your eyes out for the details and shoot many different angles.

If she is not happy with them, just tell her she got what she paid for. Oh yeah, she is not paying!

    Have fun with it.
