Hi everyone, i thought I would introduce myself and where I am from and my interest in photography.
    "sorry it's long winded"

    My Name is Dee
I'm a parent, and originally from Perth, Australia,
but moved to the states about 11 years ago.
I reside in Central Florida USA, and have a 10 year old Autistic son.

I've always wanted to take up photography,
but money wise and time wise its always been on the back burner until recently, I now have more time on my hands and also I decided it may benefit my son and his special needs to have us do something together he can utilise on many levels, and enjoy with me.

I'm very interested in Macro photography and
am currently saving money to buy my first Macro lens and a tripod,
to be able to get a start off in that genre of photography.
Once I'm situated with them I also want a telephoto
    lens for bird/wildlife photography.
My son has a Kodak z650 SLR with docking station for instant gratification which we figured would be a great little tool for him to learn on.

I went with the Nikon D3000 as I was led to believe its a great camera for beginners entering the DSLR world.
It came with 2 kit Lens's
    Nikkor 18-55mm 1:3.5-5.6G Lens
    and also
    Nikkor 55-200mm 1.4-5.6G ED Lens.

I look forward to learning from everyone, and the site.
Any tips/tricks/feedback/ ideas will always be fully appreciated.
Its great to find a group online that is so resourceful and I know I will learn a lot from you all here.

    Kind regards
    Dee Walsh
