So for now, i'm trying to figure out how to create a high key look without my strobes (I haven't gotten them yet). Can you shoot a sb-600 at the backdrop at full power to get this?

Not really. It's a bit more involved than that.
It's a lot more involved actually.

First you need to know what makes up a high key shot. In a nutshell, backgrounds should be whites or pastels. Same with clothing. Shadows are very light to non-existent. None of the exposure should be below the midtones.

It is NOT overexposed and high contrast.

Well, I know it's with a white background..Obviously can't shoot high key with black. But is it possible to achieve this with just one sb-600?

I can't do it right with one strobe and I have three to work with...but with one on bg, not yet....

White, grey, basically any lighter color. I just want to know if it's doable. Has anybody mastered this?
