Horrible gym conditions with multi-colored lights making white balance virtually impossible and 3200 ISO.

D300, f/1.8 35mm AF-S, f/1.8-2.8, 1/800, shutter priority, manual white balance set to 2875 if I recall correctly.

OK, this last one is a bit different. I guy from about 20 feet away shot his flash while I was getting this shot, which made the white balance unrecoverable (I wasn't shooting RAW, my turnaround time on these shots is minutes, not hours) so I just made it black & white. This was the publication shot for the paper this week (black & white anyway).

Solid photos all in all.

I would recommend varying your position some. Even try sitting down along the baseline outside the arc or shooting from midcourt near the scorers table. All of the pictures are under the basket and are either layups, rebound or post moves and are rather typical, traditional basketball photography shots. Look for coaches' reactions, player reactions, scrums on the floor for a loose ball, don't be satisfied with the standard approach to the game.
