Homecoming

It an annual school sprit event with a dance, a sports game (usually football but sometimes basketball) and often there is also parade.

Yup, it's a high school celebration, generally a week long.

It usually revolves around the football game (at least in my area)....during the week at school (in my high school) we always had, as Jeff said, a spirit week....there were dress up days, pep rallies, and often we'd have a day where we'd do games (like the senior class vs the junior class in stuff like tug o war). And then, as Jeff said, there is generally a homecoming school dance. Oh, and the parade at our school was the day of the football game.
