    Hi,

How do I know if my Sigma 17-35mm lens is an AF or EF mount? I was asked this question and I don't really understand it. The lens fits my Canon EOS 20D.

    Thank you so much.

AF (Auto focus) is not a mount type...EF is Canon's designation for their auto focus lenses that fit onto EOS cameras...so any lens that is made to be used with EOS cameras...we would say it had an EF mount. It would be more accurate to say it has a Canon EOS mount or a Canon auto focus mount.

You lens fits onto and works with your EOS camera...so you could say that it is an AF lens with an EF mount.

Typically, non brand lens will say something like AF lens for Canon (or for Nikon, Pentax etc.)
