how to create prismatic effect when shooting diamond

does anyone know how to shoot the diamond so I get the prismatic effect?? Is there a special filter that will do it or I need to focus on the lighting?? Thanks very much

If I understand correctly, you want a flare to give the shot sparkle. I would suggest a cross-screen or star filter.

I think a Diffractor or Star Filter is what you're after...

as far as i know from looking into giving the "sparkle" to gems, use lots of point source lights (high powered LEDs set up like a macro flash ring are what i saw being used in a manual) . Havent tried it myself but i would imagine no filter is needed if you get that set up
