Hey guys I want to start and try my work with people photography. I want to know how to go about starting this. I know family and friends to get a little sample together and rough start. But then do I just go to like Model Mayhem and start finding people that will work for free and of course free on my end just they would buy prints if they wanted them.

Are there sites to give me some help on ways to have them pose and all those sort of things?

    Any input appreciated

    Family. Friends. Co-workers.

Start asking around. I'm sure you'll get some volunteers.

Check out local camera clubs; they very often have sessions with models which can include tips and instruction.
