I have been bothering by GAIN pop-up ads during search for a long time. Tried to kick these hidden flies but unsuccessfully. Can anyone teach me how to get these ads COMPLETELY and THOROUGHLY.

    Thanks.

I'm not familiar with Gain ads, but I was getting BestOffers ads before, and I got rid of them with Microsoft AntiSpyware.

Yeah, some of them are git-difficult to remove. I tend to use the Spybot resident to lock the registry, Microsoft Anti-Spyware, and occasionally run Ad Aware for good measure.

Using Firefox seems to be advantageous over IE as it's security is a touch more reliable and there are generally less successful exploits. It's wise to have local firewall facility blocking all outbound traffic if possible to stop anything getting out.
