How to set up a window "prop"

    I bought a beautiful "window" at a garage sale for 8 bucks!! What a find. I want to do some shots where my subject is looking out the window. You know the kind right? Where there is like shadow behind them and then soft light coming in from the window? How in the heck do I do this though? I can play with my camera to figure out how to take the actual picture but I mean how do you actually set it up? What goes behind the window? A plain white backdrop?Where should my lights go, etc.
