    Hello all, I was just given a Nikon 401 QD from a relative that has just passed away. I have always had the pasion for photography but not the equipment or time. Well here's making a start.
    Is anyone familar with such a camera as mine? It is fitted with the following lens;
    Nikon AF Nikkor 35-70mm f/2.8D
    Is this a factory standard?
    I wouldnt have a glue about camera speed or aperture selection........

    Nice to meet you all

    The 401 is a serviceable camera and will do well for stills (landscapes and portraits) and snaps. The real prize is the lens though, hang on to it. :)

    Welcome! there is a lot to learn here and this is the best place to start. you won`t understand much of anything else if you venture out in the other sections so stay here for a while till you get your feet wet. the language these guys talk is a different language...lol... and it takes some time getting used too...lol... these guys are MASTERS... and i`m just a little guppy in the big puddle but i`m learning. i really love this place i`ve learned a lot just reading what others have posted. play with your camera a lot and do lots of test shots. not stupid stuff but really try to learn when you shoot, have fun with it. I don`t know anything about your camera, i only know about my camera.. i`m a green horn too.
