Are you staying in Houston? (I guess so... If you were evacuating you'd be gone by now - right?)

Hopefully it won't be too bad up here where I am (Greenville), I don't think it will but who knows...

yup...i'm staying. i live in northwest side of houston but with this size of hurricane, i don't think it really matters. landfall should be between midnight til tomorrow morning but from here you can feel the strong wind gust and small trees are already blown away. please pray for us...LOL... :lol:

i would prefer stay here inside my house rather than evacuating and then worry what will happen to your house whether the roof are blown away or all windows are broken. at least if i stay i'll know what happens and figure out how to handle it. officials also mentioned the possibility of tornado in houston metro area from tonight til 10am tomorrow.

If any of you guys get local news updates regarding damage, post it.....

My mom's house is on Surfside Beach, which, from the current reports, we don't expect it to be there by this time tomorrow.

I was just down there a few months ago, and if I'm not mistaken, that looks like the 332 bridge over the inter-coastal waterway to Surfside......and that was taken before Ike has even hit.

yup...that was taken early afternoon today. and predicted landfall is midnight. imagine if it really hits this area with category 2 hurricane (100-110 mph wind)
