Propane gas grills become one of the main way of cooking meals after storms pass through south Florida. The Big Mini store at Taft St & 72 Ave in Hollywood always has a boom in business before and after storm. People waited in line up to four hours for the delivery truck to re-supplely the stores holding tank.

Dag-gone Jeff. I lived down there and weathered a few storms. Admittedly we moved quite a while ago. But I am amazed at the number of people who stay when asked to evacuate, and don't prepare for the aftermath. We always had propane tanks full, gallons of water stocked up and the bath tub full, weeks worth of canned goods and dry foods and the freezer full of ice. The number of people who knew this was coming, did nothing to prepare and didn't leave just boggles the mind. Sorry for the little rant. BTW, your photos are very descriptive and show the damage well. Keep it up.

nice shots jeff.. wish they were bigger
