On most photosafaris guests tend to shoot a burst of Hyena pictures on the first day or two, then unless they get a chance to witness these animals on a kill they give them less attention. Typically in Amboseli I focus on the elephant population but on my last trip in October we came across a family of Hyenas with several pups still without their spots. We spent around 20 minutes capturing the interaction. Below are a couple of shots more images and technical details are on my site blog

Very nice. Only saw one lone hyena on my whole safari. Not complaining, just saying.
 
I like the last one of the running cub, how did you manage to get close to them though in the wild?

We just took our time, the cubs were quite curious, they came right up to the vehicle, the adults were a bit more cautious.
 
Nice shots Bryan. I have yet to see any pups - lots of hyenas, no pups.
