Since the scale for hyperfocal setting is absent in today's lens, is there a fine method for doing a hyperfocal setting instead of relying on guess works, which I usually do??

    Thanks.

Search for "DOF calculator" and you can find hundreds of sites that have software for figuring DOF and hyperfocal distances for different formats and focal lengths. I just make a little note card to reference, but at some sites you can print out a custom DOF dial for your lenses that you can assemble and carry with you.
