Can others edit my Photos
Photos OK to edit
Hello i'm new here at the forum and as a photographer. im trying to upload a few of my photos but i keep getting the following error messages.

"Security error occurred. Please press back, refresh the page, and try again.

IMG_5268.jpg"

or

"Our gallery currently accepts images only.

IMG_5268.jpg"

I've tried with .CR2, .JPG, .PNG.

Any ideas why i cannot upload my files?

Mine says the file is too big for the server to process even though it's almost half the max size allowed.

Click on upload a file. My image is 460K and 1000 wide.

Navigate to the image file, double click on the image. Click "full size".

Done.

BTW > I'm on a Windows 10 desktop, if you are using a phone thingee device, you're on your own :)

where are you uploading it from?
If hosted, is that photo(s) public security level?

I uploaded the first image from my computer.

The other option is to create an account on something like Photobucket and set security to "public".

Upload images to a folder you create and copy/paste the link from the image you want to post.

I couldnt even get that far. As soon as I'd double click, I'd get the TPF server error. I'll just use PhotoBucket for now.

Computer. 3500x2330, 2.85 MB

Too big, both ways :)

We used to be able to upload almost anything and the site software would resize for us.

Of course, that takes time if you are on a slow speed internet connection :)

Internet etiquette is in the range of 1000-1200 Pixels wide/400-700k range.

A larger k image Doesn't look any better on a computer screen :)

Anywho, I don't rely on a site's software to resize, I do it first.

I use FastStone Image Viewer for that, it's a free download.

Try to resize and upload again...

Cheers, Don

I thought maybe it was overall dimensions but the site pop-up window just says 4MB. Thanks for the info, I'll keep it in mind when uploading directly to the site.

Make sure you use the upload a file button below and not the insert link option.
