This will be my first spring with my Tokina 100mm and I am already looking for bugs, spiders, bees, etc. Which is pretty funny because I am allergic to bees and scared of spiders. I have found a centipede some small flowers and some sort of bug in the last couple days. Do you all think that a 1.4x tele would work well in these situations? I also hav ethe set of three extension tubes. I just found this section of the forum so I promise not to post so many random pics but I wanted to get caught up lol.

This little guy was on my wood fence. No idea what it is

The 1.4 tele is definitely not necessary, you can still get some outstanding pics without one. But it will definitely help with working distance especially since you are allergic and may not scare them off as easy. At 1:1 you should be about 6inchs or so from the subject , the tele will move you probally double that. You will also loose 1stop of light with the tele. Sorry no comment on pics since Im at work and can not see them.
