I don't want this shadow

You have to think about the direction of the light that illuminating your subject (adorable). Your photo looks as though the flash is camera mounted with the flash on the right hand side of the taking lens. Pointing the flash directly up at the ceiling can eliminate this back shadow but, you can still end up with dark eye sockets. If you had shot this picture with the camera in the horizontal position, it would have placed the flash directly above the taking lens and the shadow would have fallen directly behind the subject (out of sight). The best results I have gotten is with the camera in the horizontal position, flash pointing up with the bounce card extended. Brittany Sigley.jpg
